Jenny Johnston - Founder/Instructor
Jenny is the founder of Do-Re-Mi & My Baby, and she has a passion for bringing music to the lives of young children and their families. She has a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Jazz Performance from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Education from Trent University. Jenny is a certified elementary school teacher, and taught music at St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School for seven years. In addition to teaching, Jenny is an accomplished singer and choral conductor. She currently conducts the junior girls' choir with the Oakville Choir for Children & Youth. Jenny's greatest musical joy is singing with her son and daughter..
Kate Wright - Instructor
Kate Wright is a passionate early childhood music educator, singer, and conductor based in Toronto. Kate holds her Bachelor of Music from Western University, and her Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, where she specialized in Arts in the Community. After 3 years of full-time teaching, Kate decided to focus on making music outside the school environment, and began to sing professionally with two Grammy nominated choirs, the Elora Singers, and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. In addition to singing, Kate conducts 2 choirs in the Oakville Choir for Children & Youth, with young children aged 4-9. In 2013, Kate completed her Music Together® training, and began teaching mixed-age music classes to children from birth-5 years and their caregivers. She has completed her Orff level 1 and is a member of the Kodaly Society of Ontario. Kate plays the ukulele and guitar, and absolutely loves making music with her 2 year old son, Sam.
